Happy Mainnet-versary! It has been 1 year since the launch of our Mainnet and 4 months since listing in exchanges and we are full of surprises and good news starting with our highly expected Sirius update! 🤩
General and New Releases 🎙️
Sirius Protocol Release 🥳
We are excited to announce our next major release adding delegation to pools and improving our smart contract framework on the Concordium blockchain. Sirius Protocol will take effect on June 23rd and it will include:
Support for delegation 🤩
In the delegation model of the new protocol, bakers can seamlessly open pools, and accounts can delegate part of their capital to such a pool. Rewards for baking are distributed proportionally to each pool’s stake. The baker gets a portion of the pool rewards, the remaining rewards are then distributed amongst the pool participants, proportionally to their stake.
Accounts will have the option to delegate to a specific baker pool or opt for passive delegation.
Improved smart contract functionality 🔥
The new Smart Contracts:
We expand the range of use-cases supported on the Concordium chain with a focus on supporting smart contracts with a large number of users interacting with it.
Make it easier to build smart contracts that interact with other contracts, and support Fungible Tokens.
Natively support cryptographic functions such as: verify_ed25519_signature, verify_ecdsa_secp256k1_signature, hash_sha2_256, hash_sha3_256, and hash_keccak_256 so the transaction fees for these functions will now be lower.
CCDScan is live
Our new blockchain explorer CCDScan is live! Concordium blockchain can be found here along with our other chain explorers.
CCDScan effectively serves as a search engine for data on the Concordium blockchain and enables users to search for, explore and analyse relevant on-chain data. Explore it here. It also comes with a high performance, open, GraphQL API for our community to pull relevant data from and build their own dedicated sites or applications.
New listing
On May 27th, $CCD was listed on Kucoin! Find all the exchanges where Concordium is listed here.
Timestamping on Concordium’s Blockchain is easier than ever! No more doggy documents!
Northstake has designed a Concordium based Timestamping service, which allows you to timestamp any pictures, documents and files with a simple drag and drop!
This blockchain based verification process allows you to check if a file has been changed to assure the authenticity of a document and prevents fraud. Try it out yourself, it is super simple: https://timestamp.northstake.dk

Ecosystem and community updates🤲
Bictory’s NFT Marketplace is live!
The BictoryNFT multi-chain marketplace is Concordium first! At the moment, it houses NFTs from only Concordium by globally-sourced talented artists. With the use of the CryptoX wallet, users can seamlessly connect and collect NFTs. Bictory Finance is also about integrating FIAT payments to make collecting NFTs on Concordium easier through VISA and Master cards, this will greatly lower the barriers that surround getting NFTs on the Concordium ecosystem presently. One more update from the rapidly growing marketplace, it's successfully implemented Sirius ( Concordium Protocol version 4 on Testnet). This means minting and collecting NFTs will be cheaper than ever! Explore their marketplace here: https://bictory.art/
GoVote Prototype is ready!
We are really excited to share that the Japanese developers team, PHI, has now finished a prototype of GoVote, an open voting system built on top of Concordium! Watch their demo here.
In the demo video, we can see how an owner of a voting proposal manages voting privileges such as who can join and vote, which are programmed by a smart contract built on Concordium.
Govote will be used by a Japanese political party with more than 10,000 members, and the best part, it will be open source and accessible for you to build your own voting system!
Read more on why this matters here.
The Concordium Name Service is coming sooner than you think!
Yes, Bictory’s team does not sleep. They have announced that the Concordium Name Service is going to be released in June! 🤩
These blockchain domain names can serve as a domain name, a payment address and even as dapp logins. Learn more at https://ccd.domains/
New ID Provider!
Digital Trust Solutions (DTS), a software development and consultancy firm, is partnering with Concordium as global ID verification provider on Concordium, ensuring user privacy while enhancing accountability and trust.
Overlay DAO
A group of outstanding Japanese developers presented at the Les Roches News University's Innovation Centre their new project Overlay DAO which will be built on top of Concordium. Will Overlay be the first DAO built on Concordium? We are excited to see 🤩
Partnership with Indacoin!
Buying $CCD gets easier and easier! Indacoin has decided to onboard $CCD and now $CCD is live in the Indacoin platform available to buy with Visa and Mastercard here.
Other Tech Updates 👨💻
Concordium’s Testnet will be reset on Monday June 13th. Detailed instructions for migration will come here.
The upcoming browser extension wallet was just released in an alpha version to a small group of dApp development teams. Over the coming months we will continuously be upgrading the new wallet before it is released to the public. The browser wallet will greatly enhance the usability for users when interacting with dApps.
