General đ„
Team Concordium wants to wish you all the best for 2021 and to remind you that this new year will be "Concordiumâs yearâ for the following reasons:
We are launching our 4th and last Testnet in January 2021
We will launch our Mainnet in Q2 2021
We will open our code and thus our doors to the Developersâ community which will be invited to contribute in a friendly way
and well because 2020 was, letâs say, a bit complex for the planet and for humanity đŠ
In the following lines, you will find some important updates about the project together with a non-exhaustive list of Concordium press mentions.
Participating in Concordium? Yes, you can! đ€
New Incentivized Initiatives Coming Up
Concordium is more than its foundation, team, technology, and science, Concordium is its community, the testers, developers, bakers, stakers, validators, node runners, GTU holders, content creators, all of you are Concordium. And we couldnât be prouder of the amazing, ever-growing community, Concordium is becoming.
This is why, we are really excited about our new Concordium Champs Initiative, in which we will identify the most active and helpful members of our community, and give them the recognition they deserve by honoring them as our Concordium Champs and providing them with unique perks!
On December 14th we announced our first Champs, and it will be renewed every month. You can read more about the rules and benefits here.
But Concordium Champs is not the only incentivized program keeping us busy. In 2021, Concordium will release its Content Contest in which we will reward the community members who are investing their time in creating articles, videos, scripts and other forms of content to spread awareness about the project. Besides during Testnet 4, we will release incentives for community members helping each other with scripts, document translations and more.Â
Donât miss any announcement, join us on Discord and Telegram channels.Â
Testnet 4 Coming Up
We are really excited to announce that Testnet 4 will be released on January 13th. This testnet will be the last one before our highly expected Mainnet.
Testnet 4 is of grand importance for the Concordium Team as this will be the first time our smart contracts will be deployed.Â
Like its last precursor, in Testnet 4, participants will be able to earn rewards for finishing different challenges including running nodes, creating smart contracts, and more. All rewards earned on this Testnet will be allocated after Mainnet.Â
The launch of Concordium Incentivized Testnet 4 Program is set of January 20th, stay tuned!
Although most of the challenges will require Rust knowledge, Concordium has developed documentation that will help any person run smart contracts in our user-friendly architecture.
If you would like to participate, please join our Discord and Telegram channels to not miss any announcements.Â
Bakers Wanted!
Concordium is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain as you know. It means that the ecosystem is maintained and secured by block creators (bakers) and finalizers.
Concordiumâs doors are open and we welcome everybody to become bakers, as well as finalizers.
If you are interested we invite you to please read this article where we explain how to participate in the network. And you are more than invited to reach us directly too.
Research Updates đ€
COBRA has produced a lot of new and interesting science papers during 2020 which are supporting Concordium in building a fast, robust and secure permissionless blockchain with ID on the protocol level
Concordiumâs technology is deeply rooted in this research, including the following papers written in collaboration with ConcordiumÂŽs science- and tech teams, and our advising professors. You can find them all on our website.
The year has just begun, but COBRA already has several submissions for 2021, including:
